by Wil Langford, R. Hy.
He was a mountain of a man. He stood over 6 feet tall and had hands like hams. He could easily carry a lot of weight, but not the weight he was bearing. Let's call him Frank, it's not his real name, but this is the real story of one of my hypnosis clients who lost 125 pounds and kept it off.
He was as big as a billboard and became my walking advertisement. I never realized when Frank walked into my office that day how many people would follow him based on his recommendation and impressive results.
Frank explained that he was an equipment operator at a construction site and spent all day sitting down. He operated a machine that loaded trucks. When the trucks weren't ready for loading, he sat and waited, and waited, and waited. Boredom was a big problem and Frank had started snacking. He also told me the biggest benefit of losing weight would be that he could take his family on a canoe trip they had always wanted to try, but had been unable to enjoy because he was just too big to safely travel in a canoe.
We talked about his weight problem and lifestyle and filled out an intake form so I could understand his problem and special needs. Just as no two people are exactly alike, no two diets should be exactly alike, either. Let's face it, a diet is really a very personal thing. I read his answers and tailored a weightloss strategy that I knew would fit Frank like a glove. It had the right suggestions based on the hidden keys and triggers I saw in his answers.
I explained how hypnosis works, how hypnosis, the method I used had been approved by the American Medical Association as an effective method. Then I guided Frank into hypnosis. He enters a state of hypnosis but was able to hear me and undersand the things I was saying. I put those suggestions in his subconscious mind where I knew they would have the power to make him feel like eating healthy foods in normal amounts.
After the session Frank said he felt great, very relaxed, and had a positive feeling about losing weight. I gave him the taped copy of the session like I did with every client and he left. He promised that he would listen to the tape every day.
I didn't hear from Frank for quite a while, then, one day, I got an envelope and there was a picture int the envelope, but no return address so its origin was a mystery to me. The picture was of a man, woman, and two small children in a great big canoe. They were all smiling and seemed to be very happy. I was sure I had never seen them before, though the man did look a little familiar. Later that day the phone rang. "Hello, Wil, did you get the picture?" a voice said.
"Yes, I did, thank you," I replied, "The only problem is that I don't know who you are."
"You mean you don't recognize me," he laughed, "but don't feel bad, very few people do. It's me, Frank. I looked like two men the last time you saw me."
Then I realized who it was. Frank had lost so much weight that I didn't recognize him and neither did a lot fo his friends and people in his town. When they saw his amazing results they started to flock to me for weightloss, smoking cessation, and other behavior problems.
Frank lost a total of 125 pounds and continued to send referals my way for years. He and his family took many canoe trips and had the times of their lives. he told me that he found it so easy to lose weight when he no longer felt like eating to satisfy his boredom. The suggestions in his subconscious mind were so powerful that he easily lost weight and kept it off. He was my biggest loser, but not by much. I had other clients who lost over 100 pounds, too.
What many people don't realize is that our subconscious mind controls our habits and behavior, including our eating habits. The subconscious controls 90% of our thought processes and the conscious mind only controls 10%. so making a conscious effort to lose weight is pitting 10% of your mind again 90% of your mind. For a little while you can lose weight but eventually the sheer size of the subconscious wins out and the old eating habits return. The only way to solve that problem is to change the habits in your subconscious mind. The best way to do that is with hypnosis.

Why I Hate Dieting...
...and why you should too!
by Stuart Thomas
Dieting simply doesn't work!
You can not lose weight long term by going on a diet, and that's a fact... a pretty well known one at that. Despite this, diets are more popular than ever, along with some other quick fix remedies such as diet pills, etc.
So, how does one lose weight?
Simple... You change your lifestyle! Notice I said 'Simple' and not 'Easy'. If it was easy there would be hardly any health & weight problems to solve. Live a healthier more balanced lifestyle and you won't have a weight problem, simple as that.
The difference between a diet and a lifestyle/diet change is that one is a short term painful experience to shed a few pounds (after which you usually put even more back on!) and the other is a life-long commitment to a healthier, happier life.
To make the kind of changes required requires us to attack the problem at a much deeper level, often psychological. To do this we need to seek help from specialist treatments such as Hypnotherapy, NLP, Accupuncture, etc.
I will be featuring regular Articles & Tips relating to alternative treatments and ideas which offer long term benefits & results.
Good luck and stay healthy.
